The 18th annual Bright Lights neighborhood festival will return to Jackson this weekend.

On Sunday, the free event held in the historic Belhaven District will feature music, local art, and a variety of food provided by popular neighborhood businesses. The festival kicks off at 10 a.m. with live music at Urban Foxes coffee shop, followed by performances at Sunflower Oven bakery at noon, and other events continuing at the Belhaven Town Center at 2 p.m.

The day is designed to let participants experience as little or as much as they want, with the flexibility to join at different points throughout the neighborhood.

“Bright Lights is carefully designed by our dedicated volunteers to provide attendees the opportunity to enjoy the neighborhood and festival events at their own pace,” Greater Belhaven Foundation executive director Mary Alex Thigpen said. “We love that this event provides neighbors and visitors with the chance to fully experience our vibrant, creative, and historic neighborhood.”

This year’s Bright Lights festival will feature performances by a lineup of local musicians, including:

  • Spirituals
  • Sad Bath
  • Smokies
  • Vae
  • Rose Haven Motor Hotel
  • Fondren Guitars Student Rock Band
  • Soul City 3
  • Holy Vision
  • Kenny Pahina
  • DJ Young Venom

Attendees will also be able to indulge in offerings from featured businesses such as Fertile Ground Brewing Company, Beans and Bananas, Elvie’s, Good Bar, the Terrace at BTC, the Heights, Urban Foxes, JXN Flea, and Sunflower Oven.
