GPS Hospitality, a franchisee that owns more than 400 Burger King restaurants, announced that it will be awarding 213 students in 13 states with the Burger King Foundation scholarship. Four of these students are from the Jackson area.
Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors based on their GPA as well as the influence applicants had on their schools and communities.
The local students who will be receiving a $1,000 scholarship are:
- Denijah Bolden – Jim Hill High School.
- Kyla Hunter – Northwest Rankin High School.
- Jayda Smith – Forrest Hill High School.
- Dillian Smith – Madison Central High School.
“We are thrilled to be a part of the great work the Burger King Foundation does. Supporting the Burger King Foundation Scholarship program is our way of helping advance education” Jessica Sommerfeldt, GPS Hospitality Director of Operations for the Gulf Coast North West region, said. “The students we’re supporting represent some of the best and brightest in Jackson and across the nation who are working towards creating a brighter future for everyone.”
The Burger King Foundation scholarships are funded in full through guest donations at local restaurants.
