Conference-USA has announced the makeup dates for two Southern Miss football games that were initially postponed due to COVID-19.
The Golden Eagles’ matchups with FAU and UTEP were postponed in consecutive weeks due to outbreaks. The game at UTEP will be made up on December 5th with the FAU game taking place the following Thursday, December 10th, in Hattiesburg.
The FAU game will serve as USM’s season finale in what has been a challenging year for the program after head coach Jay Hopson resigned one week in. The Golden Eagles are now on their third acting head coach after interim head coach Scotty Walden recently departed to accept the Austin Peay job. Tim Billings is leading the way for the remainder of the season.
This Saturday, USM will host North Alabama with kickoff at 2 p.m.
