Mississippi’s two ranked Division I baseball programs were rewarded with higher spots in this week’s D1Baseball Top 25 after sweeping road weekend series.
Southern Miss secured their highest ranking of 2025, landing at No. 13 after beating Ole Miss in the midweek and winning all three against Louisiana Monroe. Ole Miss stepped up three positions to No. 15 after sweeping the Missouri Tigers.

The No. 13 Golden Eagles topped the Rebels by a score of 6-2 in “The Swamp” in Pearl last Tuesday to avenge a loss earlier in the season. Though an ensuing trip to Monroe wasn’t dominant, with each of the first two wins of the series requiring late-game heroics, Southern Miss was able to polish off their first 4-0 week.
Christian Ostrander’s crew returns to the Magnolia State with a midweek bout in Biloxi against Nicholls set for Tuesday followed by a home Sun Belt series against South Alabama.

No. 15 Ole Miss bounced back from the loss against Southern Miss with a manhandling of SEC opponent Missouri. The Rebels pounded the Tigers by a combined score of 40-22 across the weekend, launching 10 total home runs as a team with four long balls coming from senior outfielder Isaac Humphrey.
The red and blue will welcome Memphis to Swayze Field to begin a five-game homestand, including this weekend’s series against the now-unranked Florida Gators.
Mississippi State remains unranked after losing a road series to No. 9 Oklahoma.
