Bus passengers along the Mississippi Gulf Coast will soon have to adapt to a new policy.
Coastal Transit Authority officials announced that the bus hailing practice will end on October 31. The practice involves prospective riders signaling to the bus to stop and pick them up when the vehicle is on its route.
Officials cited safety as the number one reason for making the change. Beginning November 1, riders will have to locate designated bus stops and board the vehicle from there.
