A Colorado man is in custody after leading officers from seven different law enforcement agencies on a high-speed chase in the Pine Belt.

Angelino Vialpando, 30, of Colorado Springs, reportedly fled after Hattiesburg police attempted to halt him for a traffic stop on Monday.

Investigators with the Jones County Sheriff’s Department say Vialpando traveled on Interstate 59 from Hattiesburg toward Laurel at a high rate of speed. Jones County deputies, Mississippi Highway Patrol troopers, Ellisville police, Laurel police, and Constable Danny Gibson joined the pursuit.

Jones County narcotics agents deployed spike strips near the Chantilly Street exit in Laurel, disabling Vialpando’s tires and causing his vehicle to crash off the right side of the interstate. He then fled on foot but was promptly captured.
