It’s an exciting time for the Harrison County Economic Development Commission.  Executive Director Bill Lavers told SuperTalk Mississippi that a combination of ongoing projects will result in 1200 jobs.

During an interview on The Gallo Radio Show, Lavers discussed plans to build a Buc-ee’s on I-10 at the Menge Avenue exit.  In addition to jobs, it’s expected to be a huge tourism draw.  “This will be the first one in Mississippi.   They do a lot of business and over 5-million people a year come to a Buc-ee’s store when they’re open.”

He also went into detail about Project Deliver.  “It’s a 300-thousand foot state of the art e-commerce center.  We’re in due diligence right now, hopefully that will be under construction in the next 90 days.  It’ll have interstate exposure.”

Lavers also discussed workforce development, rail restoration on Seaway Road in Gulfport and a plethora of other topics.
