A man fishing off the Mississippi Gulf Coast was bitten by a five-foot shark Thursday.
According to WXXV, the commercial fisherman whose identity has not been released was fishing west of Horn Island when bitten. He suffered four lacerations above the waist around the abdomen area. The injuries were reported as minor.
Horn Island, one of Mississippi’s five barrier islands, is approximately 8 to 10 miles south of Pascagoula.
