Conehatta man given two decades in prison for sex crimes against minor under 12

A Conehatta man will spend two decades behind bars for sexual contact with a minor under the age of 12

According to court documents, 35-year-old Dayleon Phillips, Sr. admitted to having sexual contact with the unidentified child in the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.

Phillips will serve 240 months in federal prison for the crime. He is currently housed in the Madison County Detention Center.

The Choctaw Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation investigated the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin J. Payne and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian K. Burns prosecuted the case.
