Believe it or not, the construction along U.S. Highway 49 is complete.
The 7.5-mile stretch of Highway 49 from Florence to Richland has been opened to six lanes and is officially open to the public.
Construction on this portion of Highway 49 began in 2017. It was announced by MDOT in May that the department’s goal was to have the construction complete by the end of summer 2022.
