An Alcorn County doctor has been arrested for killing someone while driving over 100 miles per hour.
Michael Hawley, 44, of Corinth, surrendered to authorities this week in connection to the April 25 incident that took the life of William Pady, 81. Hawley works as an internal medicine doctor at Magnolia Regional Community Care Clinic, according to Baptist health services’ website.
The Corinth Police Department reported that Hawley was going at least 60 miles per hour over the speed limit before crashing into Pady’s SUV on Highway 72. The area is listed as a 45 miles per hour zone. Hawley has been charged with manslaughter culpable negligence.
It’s unclear if Hawley’s employment has been terminated due to the incident. SuperTalk Mississippi News has reached out to Magnolia Regional Community Care Clinic for comment.
