A Mississippi corrections officer has been arrested after allegedly sneaking contraband to an inmate.
According to the Winston County Sheriff’s Department, 35-year-old Nikita Carer was taken into custody after she was accused of sneaking a cell phone, marijuana, and non-jail food into the Winston-Choctaw County Regional Correctional Facility.
Carter was charged with 12 counts of furnishing contraband to a prisoner. The inmate’s name has not been released.
Justice Court Judge Mike Fuller set Carter’s bond at $60,000.
