The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) has announced several closures as a dangerous winter mix moves through the state.
The following county health departments will be closed on Friday: DeSoto, Tate, Panola, Yalobusha, Grenada, Marshall, Benton, Tippah, Alcorn, Tishomingo, Lafayette, Union, Prentiss, Pontotoc, Lee, Itawamba, Calhoun, Chickasaw, Monroe, Webster, Choctaw, Oktibbeha, Lowndes, Clay, Tunica, Coahoma, Quitman, Tallahatchie, and Bolivar.
The following county health departments have delayed opening Friday until 10 a.m.: Noxubee, Winston, Attala, Leflore, Carroll, Montgomery, Sunflower, and Washington.
MSDH noted that the status of the aforementioned county health departments could change based on the weather.
All other county health departments are scheduled to open at 8 a.m.
