A Mississippi Delta man has been accused of threatening a judge.
U.S. Marshals arrested Jeffery Miles, 38, in Illinois on Friday, July 19, after the subject allegedly called Jackson County Chancery Judge Mark Maples and left threatening messages in the judge’s voicemail.
Miles is reported to have threatened to harm the judge if Maples didn’t issue a favorable ruling in an unspecified Ocean Springs case he was overseeing.
The alleged criminal was returned to Jackson County on Monday where he faces charges for making terroristic threats and retaliation against a public servant.
He was given no bond on the terroristic threats charge and a $100,000 bond for the retaliation charge.
