Oxford will be celebrating one of the city’s biggest events when Double Decker Arts Festival returns this weekend.

The 27th annual festival, taking place on Friday, April 26, and Saturday, April 27, will be filled with over 140 artisans showing off and selling their work, over 20 local food trucks serving Mississippi favorites, and of course some of the best music around.

Previously touted as the best festival in Mississippi by multiple publications, Double Decker’s music lineup for 2024 is headlined by Christone “Kingfish” Ingram and Brittany Howard. Kingfish, a blues musician out of Clarksdale, won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Album after his release of 662 in 2021. Howard, formerly the lead vocalist of Alabama Shakes, has been a huge success since going out on her own. Her debut studio album, Jaime, earned her seven Grammy nominations, winning Best Rock Song for “Stay High.”

Other artists set to take the stage throughout the weekend include Grace Bowers, Conner Smith, Flatland Cavalry, Kenny Brown, Billy Allen + The Pollies, Jaime Wyatt, Bass Drum of Death, Charlie Mars, and Neal Francis.

In addition to the art and music, there will be plenty of activities for everyone. On Saturday, a 5k and 10k will take place. There will be a Kid Zone for the little ones, and for the sports lovers, the Ole Miss baseball team will be hosting a three-game series against Alabama beginning Thursday night.

Last year, over 75,000 people attended Double Decker. The full schedule for this year’s event can be found here.
