On Friday, in honor of Earth Day 2023, the Renaissance at Colony Park and NexTech have partnered to offer residents a chance to recycle their electronics.

The recycling event, which will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. outside of the Ridgeland Barnes & Noble, aims to avoid improper disposal of unwanted electronic devices or “e-waste.” More than 50 million metric tons of e-waste is generated globally on an annual basis with less than 20 percent being formally recycled.

“Rain or shine, NexTech will host the E-waste drop-off at Renaissance at Colony Park Friday,” a social media post from the IT company read. “Bring your old computer, laptop, or anything with a button. We can safely recycle for you. Let’s keep Mississippi beautiful!”

Acceptable items and disposal costs:

  • Desktop computers, laptops, tables, and cell phones – FREE
  • Flat screen monitors – $2 each
  • Printers, fax machines, DVD players – $3 each
  • CRT monitors – $5 each
  • Televisions – $15 each
