Trustmark Park will go from being the home ballpark of the Mississippi Braves for the last 20 years, to a recently announced Frontier League team beginning in 2025. A public fan vote decided the team’s moniker — the Mississippi Mud Monsters.
Officials with the city of Pearl and the incoming organization celebrated the fan culture in central Mississippi, noting the roughly 3.5 million fans that have gone through the turnstiles at Trustmark Park when the Braves called it home. Now, they’re hoping fans get just as hooked on the Mud Monsters.

“There is a history here. There’s a history, not just with the Mississippi Braves for 20 years, but there’s this history of great athletes, great people, and these great young men,” owner of the new club Joseph Eng said when the team was announced. “These are young men who are determined to pursue their careers and their aspirations. It’s a great feeling to create an opportunity.”
The Mud Monsters’s maiden voyage will begin on May 8, 2025, playing a 90-game schedule with the final contest played on Labor Day weekend. A logo unveiling will be made at a later date via the team’s social media.
