Jackson native Kelly Williams has launched a new medical marijuana company called Kelly’s Green following the recent passage of the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Act of 2022.
Kelly’s Green is the first woman-owned medical marijuana company and has been following the progression of the bill since its beginning as Initiative 65.
Williams recalled the financial contributions, signatures, and meetings attended that helped bring the launching of her company to fruition. She also mentioned the relatives in her family that have experienced the need for pain relief, which inspired her to act.
“We’re opening doors and bringing comfort to communities that haven’t yet had this option,” Williams said. “Kelly’s Green didn’t sit on the sidelines and wait until Mississippi had a medical marijuana program. We’ve been in this fight since the beginning, and we’ve got the passion, experience, and vision to be the very best for medical marijuana in the Hospitality State.”
The Kelly’s Green production facility in Jackson is currently working on construction for 2022 and is anticipated to be the main hub where they will cultivate, extract, manufacture, and package their products.
