Governor Tate Reeves has declared Monday, May 8 through Friday, May 12 as Mississippi Economic Development Week.

The proclamation from Reeves comes on the heels of a calendar year that saw a record $6 billion in economic development for Mississippi, including a $2.5 billion project in Lowndes County that has been dubbed as the state’s largest-ever.

“I encourage all citizens to recognize the contributions of economic development organizations and the importance of building and maintaining a robust economy,” Reeves wrote in the proclamation shared on social media.

On top of Mississippi Economic Development Week, residents across the state are also celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week and National Charter Schools Week.
