Grenada County authorities searching for escaped inmates

Two inmates escaped from the Grenada County Jail Sunday evening.

According to the Grenada County Sheriff’s Office, on Monday at 6:45 a.m., officials conducted a head count of the inmates in the jail and discovered that two inmates were missing.

After further investigation, it was determined that 59-year-old Claude Slaughter and 28-year-old Jonathan Miller escaped at approximately 10 p.m. Sunday.

The two inmates allegedly stole a work truck belonging to the city of Grenada, which has since been recovered.

Both men are still at large and are considered to be armed and dangerous.
