Four correctional officers at a Yazoo County jail are facing charges after five inmates escaped over the weekend.

Yazoo County Sheriff Jeremy McCoy confirmed to WLBT that the officers have been arrested and charged. While he did not disclose names, he did say three of the officers are male and the other is a female.

At 11:38 p.m. on Sunday, deputies with McCoy’s office were driving up to the Yazoo County Regional Correctional Facility when they noticed an inmate running back into the facility through a fence. Deputies then informed jail staff of what they saw, spurring a headcount. That’s when they noticed five inmates missing.

While one of the inmates was captured immediately – their name not yet being released – three of the other five were arrested on Monday and are expected to face additional charges. Their names are Marlon Willis, Marcus Green, and Deliuwon Stowers.

The fifth inmate, Glen Bassett, is still on the run. Bassett, a native of Yazoo City, is described as a Black male with short black hair standing at 6’1” and weighing 190 pounds. The Yazoo County Sheriff’s Office is offering $1,000 for any information leading to his arrest. Tips can be reported by dialing (662)746-0014.
