A Gulfport man has been convicted by a federal jury of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Mark Anthony Robillia, 54, was found guilty of the two charges following a two-day trial in U.S. District Court in Gulfport earlier this week.
According to court documents, the DEA and Gulfport Police Department found four firearms while executing a search warrant at a residence in Gulfport on December 1, 2022. Officers then found three identification cards belonging to Robillia and a letter addressed to him at the residence.
Further search of the home resulted in the discovery of a fifth firearm and approximately 40 grams of meth, which was wrapped in 13 separate bags and hidden in a closet.
Investigators later learned that Robillia had purchased three of the firearms and the remaining two were given to him. Additional evidence also indicated that Robillia was distributing meth from the residence the search warrant was executed.
Robillia had previously been convicted and incarcerated for aggravated assault, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
He is currently scheduled to be sentenced on May 14 and faces a maximum sentence of 20 years for the drug offense and 15 years for the gun offense.
