The Jackson Police Department is investigating after a pair of Jim Hill High School students allegedly stole a teacher’s vehicle and took it on a joy ride resulting in a crash.
On Thursday around 11 a.m., law enforcement responded to a report of an accident with injuries on I-220 near Watking Drive. Upon arrival, authorities found that an SUV had crashed into the median at the reported location.
The occupants were two unidentified students who had allegedly taken the vehicle without permission from a teacher at the high school.
Police report that one of the occupants was ejected from the vehicle upon impact. Both occupants were transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
No charges have been filed at this time.
