A Jackson man will spend three decades behind bars for having sexual relations with a minor.

Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens reports that Ray Anthony Beasley has been found guilty of statutory rape in Hinds County. Beasley was convicted after a two-day trial.

In February 2021, Jackson police received a report from the Mississippi Department of Human Services regarding a 15-year-old girl having a sexual relationship with a 41-year-old man.

An investigation revealed that the teen had given birth to a child at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in December 2020. The hospital reported the case to the MDHS, who later contacted authorities.

Beasley claimed he had first met the victim in 2019 and admitted to having sexual intercourse with the victim on multiple occasions.

The 41-year-old faces up to 30 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
