Authorities are investigating after a body was found in a burned vehicle in south Mississippi.
On Sunday, a property owner in Lawrence County notified Sheriff Ryan Everett that a family member had discovered the vehicle on his land. The sheriff then informed investigators within his department and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation of the discovery.

When officers arrived at the undisclosed location, they found a deceased individual inside the vehicle. Everett is hopeful that DNA analysis will help identify the dead person.
No arrests have been made at this time. Anyone with relevant information about this case is urged to call the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office at (601)587-2961.
