An investigation is underway after a Hinds County detainee died on Sunday.
According to Sheriff Tyree Jones, Cleveland Roosevelt Allison suffered a medical emergency before being transported to Merit Health where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. Allison, 30, of Jackson, had been at the Raymond Detention Center since April 13 after being indicted for forgery.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has taken over the case as it awaits autopsy results.
