Another Mississippian is heading to Hollywood.

During Sunday night’s episode of American Idol, viewers got a snippet of DJ Williams’ audition. The camp counselor from Itta Bena performed a soulful rendition of Labrinth’s “Jealous” to take the next step in his Idol journey.

Williams, 18, went to social media after the airing to celebrate his golden ticket.

“I got the Golden ticket to Hollywood!!! See yall there!” the singer-songwriter wrote.

Williams, who also has musical theatre experience, left judge Katy Perry teary-eyed with the performance. While viewers did not get to see the whole thing, many are expecting to see more of Williams as season 22 moves along.

“You can tell Miss Katy was TOUCHED by this performance,” one internet user wrote with another adding, “PERIOD GOLDEN TICKET!! I know you’ll make it to the finale.”

American Idol returns on Sunday, March 24 at 7 p.m. CT on ABC.
