A Jackson man faces up to three decades behind bars for producing child pornography.
43-year-old Delvan Jerrod Howard pled guilty to committing sex crimes against a minor. Court documents reveal that Howard had video-recorded himself engaging in sexually explicit conduct with a young person.
Howard was indicted by a federal grand jury in April 2022. He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 24 and faces a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison.
A federal district judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
The case was investigated by the Mississippi Attorney General’s Cyber Crime Unit and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Glenda R. Haynes is prosecuting the case.
