Authorities have confirmed that four children are safe at the Jackson home where an apparent murder-suicide took place.

Jackson Police Chief Joesph Wade confirms that the dead bodies of Sharice Fowler, 23, and Darius Kyles, 26, were found on Saturday in the carport of a residence on West Hill Drive. Both individuals are reported to have died by gunfire.

At the scene, authorities were welcomed with the chilling revelation of four children present in the home. The children ranged from ages 2-7. All four were transported to a local hospital to be evaluated and Child Protection Services has been contacted.

Police say Kyles shot Fowler before taking his own life.
