Mississippi’s capital city has had its first homicide of the year after a 15-year-old boy was discovered fatally shot in a front yard.
The Jackson Police Department released that the unidentified teen was found with a single gunshot wound on Nimitz Street around 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
The victim was then transported to a local hospital, where he later passed away from his injuries.
At this time, investigators say that witnesses have reported seeing a red vehicle leaving the scene after firing numerous shots at the teen.
