The G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson is getting an overhaul of its campus parking lots and roads.
With the aim of improving safety and accessibility for veterans, visitors, and staff at the facility, the project will include the resurfacing of the south frontage road, the east entrance/exit road, and the west entrance road. Two of the veteran parking lots will also be resurfaced.
Beyond the veteran-focused improvements, the remainder of the resurfacing project will address employee parking areas, which will improve access and parking for staff members.
“The G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center appreciates the patience and cooperation of all veterans and visitors as we work diligently to enhance our facility for your continued care and convenience,” a statement from the VA Center reads.
The VA Jackson Health Care System, which includes VA facilities in Columbus, Greenville, Hattiesburg, Kosciusko, McComb, Meridian, and Natchez, provides an array of medical outpatient services to more than 54,000 veterans in Mississippi.
