There’s nothing like Omaha in June.
The baseball, the crazy concession stand snacks, and of course the now-famous Jell-O Shot Challenge at Rocco’s Pizza & Cantina.
Over the course of the 2022 College World Series, Ole Miss fans threw back a grand total of 18,777 Jell-O shots at Rocco’s, taking down the record set by Mississippi State in 2021. In stepping up to the challenge, Rebel fans also helped score a gift for university students and employees.
Ladies and Gentlemen your OFFICIAL 2022 Rocco’s Jello Shot Challenge. Congrats to @OleMissBSB for their victory on the field and their fans for the victory across the street at Rocco’s. It was a special year and we couldn’t be more thankful for y’all. #CWS2022 #CWSS #RoccosOmaha pic.twitter.com/XuloBnXmDM

Rocco’s announced on Thursday that they’ve donated $37,554 to support the Ole Miss Grove Grocery, which was established in 2013 to help alleviate food insecurity among people on campus. SLRRRP, the Jell-O shot supplier for Rocco’s, threw in another $9,060, bringing the total donation to $46,614.
“Honestly, it feels surreal,” Tina Truong, Grove Grocery’s student director, said. “We weren’t expecting the donation, especially one of that size, so it was a really great surprise. I’m incredibly thankful for Rocco’s, SLRRRP, and the Ole Miss community.”
The gift will help Grove Grocery keep the pantry stocked and potentially expand resources for the community. To learn more about Grove Grocery, click here.
