Seven juveniles are being accused of setting two separate fires over the weekend at a vacant school in Drew.
The first fire was set on Saturday, October 14 before being extinguished with minimal damage by the Drew Volunteer Fire Department. The second fire was set the following day, causing the structure to burn and collapse.
The fire involved a school building that was no longer being used and was in the process of being added to the Historical Register in Sunflower County.
Six juveniles have been arrested at this time, four of which are 15 years old and two that are 14 years old. Each has been charged with one count of first-degree arson and one count of trespassing.
All have been confined to their homes pending their court appearances. A seventh juvenile is still at large.
