Now in the top five of The Voice, Karen Waldrup got two chances on Monday night to prove to fans why she deserves to win season 25 of the hit NBC show.

Waldrup, a singer-songwriter who graduated from Southern Miss, used her first performance to sing “What Hurts the Most” by Rascal Flatts.

Before taking the stage, Waldrup’s coaches Dan + Shay described the aspiring country star as someone who has “stuck to what she wants to be” throughout the season. After the first performance, the country pop coaching duo told Waldrup that she has what it takes to win it all.

“The performance right there is what will win you ‘The Voice,’” Dan commented.

For her second song, Waldrup chose an up-tempo track in “I’m Alright” by Jo Dee Messina. During blind auditions back in February, she wowed the coaches with a rendition of Messina’s “Bye Bye.”

Dan + Shay contended afterward that Waldrup deserves to win it all, but in the end, it’s up to the fans. With the audience vote now closed, Waldrup will find out Tuesday night at 8/7c if she is this year’s winner of The Voice. The four other finalists are Nathan Chester (Team Legend), Josh Sanders (Team Reba), Asher HaVon (Team Reba), and Bryan Olesen (Team Legend)
