LIST: Schools are closing ahead of winter storm in Mississippi

Another bout of winter weather has covered the Magnolia State in frigid temperatures as Winter Storm Enzo rolls across the southeastern U.S. Many schools in the state will close ahead of expected dangerous conditions due to ice and snow. 

The National Weather Service in Jackson is forecasting as much as four inches of snow from central to south Mississippi, moving many academic officials to close their doors in anticipation of dangerous roadways.

 

Below are the districts and other school facilities that officials have announced will be closed due to the wintry spell: 

Central Mississippi 

Adams County Christian School – Closed January 21 and January 22

Cathedral Catholic School – Closed January 21 and January 22

Copiah-Lincoln Community College (Natchez Campus) – Closed January 21

East Central Community College – Fully online classes January 21 

Impact Global Prep – January 21 and January 22

Jackson State Univ. – Closed January 21 (Virtual operations)

Lawrence County School District – Closed January 21 

Natchez-Adams School District – January 21 and January 22

Smith County School District – Closed January 21

South Mississippi 

Bay St. Louis-Waveland School District – Closed January 21 and January 22 

Biloxi Diocese Catholic Schools – Closed January 21 and January 22
