Make-A-Wish Mississippi is making a Disney dream come true for a young Madison native battling a life-threatening disease.

5-year-old Lincoln is fighting stage two chronic kidney disease, which is a mild but damaging form of kidney disease. On Tuesday at the Mississippi Children’s Museum, Lincoln and his family learned they would be getting a trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., courtesy of Make-A-Wish.

“Each time that kids are diagnosed with a critical illness right here in Mississippi, they are brought to Make-A-Wish Mississippi. We sit down with those children and ask them what’s their one true wish,” president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Mississippi Allison Tyler told WLBT. “So, we’re offering hope and joy and so much excitement to these families and these children during a very hard time.”

Make-A-Wish Mississippi has granted more than 2,700 wishes since being founded in 1984.
