A man has been arrested after an hours-long standoff with police on Monday.

Authorities report that U.S. Marshals went to The Pearl at Highland Village apartments to serve an arrest warrant for 27-year-old Jerrell Lynch. He was wanted for kidnapping, domestic violence, simple assault, and several misdemeanors.

The Pearl at Highland Village sits on Ridgewood Road next to Jackson Academy and right across the street from Parham Bridges Park.

An unidentified female reportedly exited the apartment unit and informed law enforcement that Lynch was inside the residence and armed with a gun.

Police, along with a S.W.A.T. unit and hostage negotiators, went into the apartment. However, the suspect was not inside. Instead, he managed to maneuver his way into the attic, giving him the ability to go into other apartment units within the building.

After searching through a dozen of the apartments, authorities were finally able to capture Lynch and take him into custody. More charges are expected against the subject.
