A man is in the custody of law enforcement after allegedly shooting five people at a party in Laurel over the weekend.
Police arrested Daniel Gomez, 34, after he reportedly opened fire at the Cameron Center on North 10th Avenue on Sunday after midnight.
According to authorities, Gomez began shooting after he was denied entry to a party being held at the location. All five unidentified victims were stricken with non-life-threatening injuries.
Gomez is charged with five counts of aggravated assault and one count of driving under the influence. He is currently being housed in the Jones County Detention Center.
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a hold on the inmate.
