A man was medevaced from Mississippi’s Cat Island after reportedly receiving injuries from a stingray on Saturday.
The U.S. Coast Guard Station Gulfport received a call from local 911 dispatch requesting an emergency evacuation for a man who had reportedly received injuries from the aquatic creature.
A Coast Guard 27-foot utility boat-medium boat crew was launched to assist in getting the unidentified male off the island and to safety.
The boat crew arrived at the scene and transported the man back to the station to receive emergency services from medical personnel.
The man was last reported to be in stable condition. No further details have been provided.
