A man faces up to 68 years in prison for a drive-by shooting at Southwest Mississippi Community College.

Brian Cameron, Jr., 21, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to one count of drive-by shooting, three counts of shooting into an automobile, one count of conspiracy to commit the crime of drive-by shooting, one count of possession of a firearm on school property, and one count of criminal gang activity.

The shooting took place at the school’s campus on Sept. 9, 2021. Five days later, police executed a search warrant at a residence in Magnolia and found a firearm believed to have been used during the shooting in Cameron’s room. The suspect was 18 years old at the time.

Cameron will be sentenced on Friday, Sept. 16.
