A high-speed chase ensued early Monday morning after a man in Rankin County allegedly tried to attack a woman with a chainsaw before fleeing the scene.
The suspect was handcuffed after leading multiple law enforcement agencies through Rankin County and into Hinds County, per a report from WAPT. According to the local TV station, police put down road spikes and were able to surround the vehicle after it overturned on Highway 80 near Gallatin Street in Jackson.
While the suspect’s name has not yet been released, footage showed the vehicle to be a Toyota sedan with a Florida license plate.
The Rankin County Sheriff’s Department, Capitol Police, and Pearl Police worked jointly to apprehend the suspect.
