A man who had been placed on parole after serving time in connection to the 2017 kidnapping and shooting death of six-year-old Kingston Frazier is back behind bars.
Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey reported on Monday that 24-year-old D’Allen Washington sold drugs to undercover officers at an unspecified parking lot in Flowood. Washington is accused of selling 30 dosage units of ecstasy and one ounce of marijuana to officers.
Washington is alleged to have tried to escape authorities by foot but was captured after a short pursuit. He is now housed in the Rankin County Jail and is charged with the sale of MDMA and marijuana as well as resisting arrest.
While a teenager, Washington was arrested alongside Byron McBride and Ridgeland High School football teammate Dwan Wakefield for his involvement in Frazier being kidnapped from the parking lot of Kroger on I-55 in Jackson and later killed after the trio stole a vehicle with the six-year-old present in the back seat.
An Amber alert was issued after the child and vehicle went missing. Police later discovered the car abandoned behind a building in Gluckstadt with Frazier’s deceased body still in the back seat. The trio was arrested later that day.
McBride was given a life sentence after pleading guilty to capital murder and Wakefield was sentenced to 35 years behind bars for auto theft, kidnapping, and murder. Washington, on the other hand, was granted parole in 2022 after pleading to accessory after the fact in 2018.
Washington’s latest arrest follows a collaborative effort by Rankin County deputies, Madison Police Department investigators, and Flowood Police officers working under the guidance of the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics. Authorities believe that the suspect has direct ties to an overdose death caused by fentanyl.
