A Foxworth man was arrested and charged in connection with animal abuse and unnatural intercourse last week after reports that he was filming animals being tortured and killed.
Deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office conducted an animal welfare check at a local residence after receiving information that they were being abused. A suspect, 24-year-old Mason McMullin, was taken in for further questioning.
McMullin was placed under arrest following the interview and a search warrant was served at his residence. The next day, further information unveiled in the case led to a second search warrant at the same home.
Investigators recovered physical and electronic evidence at McMullin’s residence, though no information has been released about what was discovered.
McMullin has been charged with seven counts of aggravated animal cruelty, along with two counts of unnatural intercourse. He’s being held at the Marion County Jail on a $500,000 cash-only bond.
Officials said additional charges are expected in the ongoing investigation.
