The winter weather isn’t just affecting power and the state’s roads. It’s also causing a blood shortage.
Mississippi Blood Services has been forced to cancel blood drives throughout the week, resulting in a loss of over 1,000+ units of blood from an already “extremely low blood supply.” The organization states that they are in critical need of all blood types.
“This is critical in our ability to get hospitals and Mississippi patients what they need,” the organization said.
