The Mississippi Children’s Museum (MCM) is planning to celebrate the new year by hosting a special Noon Year’s Eve event on Saturday, December 31.

From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., attendees will be invited to create a noisemaker, countdown clock, and New Year’s hat, as well as add New Year’s wishes to the Wishing Wall. Festivities will also include countdowns at 10:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 11:30 a.m. and a grand finale at noon with confetti cannons, a traditional style countdown, and a balloon drop.

Noon Year’s Eve is included with $10 general admission and free with museum membership. The museum will be closed on New Year’s Day.

MCM’s holiday exhibit, Journey to the North Pole, will be open until January 8.

Journey to the North Pole features:

  • 45-foot Snowflake Slide (Must be 36” to ride)
  • Reindeer Rink sock skating (Must bring socks for this experience)
  • Magical train cars, a child-sized post office, letters to Santa, and holiday train table with toy trains and village elements
  • Santa’s Stocking Stories, inspired by Eudora Welty’s living room
