Mississippi Soldiers compete in Best Warrior Competition

Sunday kicked off the U.S. National Guard’s Region III Best Warrior Competition which is being hosted by the Alabama National Guard at the Fort McClellan Training Center.

Two soldiers each from Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, and the Virgin Islands are competing for the title and the chance to compete nationally.

The Soldiers representing Mississippi are Sgt. 1st Class Cody Odom and Specialist Wesley Byrd.

The warriors are being tested on their soldier knowledge, strength and conditioning, weapons capabilities, communication skills, and more.
