Mississippi State forward KeShawn Murphy has entered the transfer portal.

The announcement by Murphy comes just over a week after Bulldog sophomore and Howell Trophy-winning guard Josh Hubbard declared for the NBA Draft while retaining his college eligibility. Murphy, a 6-foot-10 forward from Birmingham, Ala., averaged 11.7 points, 7.4 rebounds, and converted on 56% of his shots this past season.

He was a foundational member of Mississippi State rosters in all three years under Chris Jans and has played a crucial role in helping the team reach the NCAA Tournament for three straight seasons.

If Murphy elects to find a new collegiate home, Jans will be tasked with replacing yet another key player. Mississippi State lost a large sum of production from this past campaign, including Cam Matthews, Riley Kugel, Michael Nwoko, RJ Melenndez, Claudell Harris, and possibly Hubbard.
