Residents shopping for locally sourced food and products are invited to visit the Mississippi Farmers Market in Jackson this Saturday and be treated to holiday festivities as the Christmas season ramps up.
From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the special Merry Market will feature complimentary cocoa/cider, face painting, letters to Santa, and unique vendors for holiday gift shopping. Santa Claus will be on-site from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for photos.
“I am pleased to extend this invitation to a celebration of community, local businesses, and the joyous spirit of the holiday season,” Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson said.
“The Mississippi Farmers Market has long been a pinnacle of community, showcasing the incredible talents and products of our local farmers, artisans, and entrepreneurs. This is a great opportunity to come together at Merry Market this Saturday to ring in the Christmas season in a truly special way.”
The market will also have evergreen wreaths available to purchase. Shoppers are invited to wear their tacky Christmas sweaters.
