23-year-old Brittney Brady has been charged with first-degree murder following the death of her five-month-old child on Sunday, July 31.

According to authorities, paramedics responded to a home in the Glendale community after receiving a call regarding an unresponsive infant. It was later discovered that the infant was left unattended in a bathtub.

The child was taken to Forrest General in Hattiesburg and, then airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. The child later died on Tuesday.

Brady went before a Forrest County Justice Court judge for her first appearance on Wednesday, where she received a $625,000 bond for the three felony charges. During her court appearance, Brady admitted to drug usage at the time of the incident.

Investigators stated that they also arrested Steven Busha Jr., the childrens’ biological father, and charged him with three counts of child neglect.
