An investigation is underway into a motorcycle crash that left a Mississippi Gulf Coast high school senior dead right before graduation.

Authorities report that the accident happened on Sunday, May 12 just before 1 p.m. on Sunkist Country Club Road. Upon arrival at the scene by first responders, it was discovered that a male victim was suffering life-threatening injuries.

The victim, later identified as Biloxi High School senior Damian Aguas, was flown to a hospital for treatment. Five days later, Aguas succumbed to injuries that he had sustained from the wreck. Officials with the Biloxi School District took to social media to ask for prayers for the victim’s family and friends.

“It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Biloxi High School senior Damian Aguas. By all accounts, Damian’s heart was as big as his personality and he will be missed by so many. Please keep his family, friends, teachers, and our Biloxi High School Band in your thoughts and prayers,” a Facebook post from the Biloxi School District reads.

Biloxi High School held its graduation two days after the former band member and beloved student lost his life. At this time, police do not believe another vehicle was involved in the accident. No foul play is suspected.
